PINEAPPLE Pete's, a sophisticated and bespoke beach house in Port Douglas, has won bronze in the 2018 HomeAway Holiday Rental Awards in the Design category, while Mystique Beach House (Newell) won gold in the Nature category.
Each year, the HomeAway Holiday Rental Awards finds Australia’s greatest holiday homes and celebrates the thousands of unique holiday rentals where Aussie travellers go to create memorable and exciting experiences.
The winning homes were judged by a panel of experts, including Wendy Moore, Editor-in-Chief of Home Beautiful and judge on House Rules; and Charlie Albone, Australia’s most prominent landscape designer and Selling Houses Australia personality.
Pineapple Pete's is three minutes from Four Mile Beach, and is a spacious house allowing everyone their personal space.
“It was a treat to review these homes. Not only did I see some styling that could be featured in Home Beautiful, I have a few ideas of where I’ll be booking my next holiday,” said Moore.
The Nature category highlights the best holiday rental that is either eco-friendly or makes use of the natural environment surrounding it; and the Design category highlights properties that showcase the most interesting use of architecture and/or interior design, both inside and out of the holiday home.
