Crocs resume against struggling Lions

PORT Douglas will resume from a bye round to face the lowly Cairns City Lions tomorrow.
The Crocs are expected to make light work of the Lions as they gear up for another September charge.
In a quirk of the fixture, the Crocs will meet Cairns Saints in the final round of the AFL Cairns season next Saturday to decide the minor premiership.
Neither side can slip below second, making the match a virtual dead rubber, and they will lock horns for a grand final berth on September 8 at Cazalys Stadium in the first semi final regardless of results in the next fortnight.
DAVIDSON WINS LEAGUE MEDAL
Talented Port Douglas teenager Daniel Davidson was awarded the Colts Reg Lillywhite Medal on Monday night.
The young gun polled 17 votes to win the league best and fairest award.
The Port Douglas Junior Crocs product is also performing strongly for the senior team and will be an important players come finals.
JUNIOR CROCS TO CONTEST GRAND FINAL
Meanwhile, the under 12 Junior Crocs team is preparing for a grand final showdown with Centrals Trinity Beach this Sunday.
The AFL Cairns Junior grand finals will all be played at Cazalys Stadium, with the Crocs match starting at 10.15am.
Youngster Maddox Hunt was awarded the under 12 league medal for his age group on Monday night with Thero Boyd runner up.
