THE Kuranda Range is expected to reopen at 4.15pm after a semi-trailer rollover caused its close this morning.

A rubbish truck overturned at about 10.10am today, bringing the busy roadway to a standstill.

Multiple cranes are on site and police have warned it may take longer to clear the roadway to make it safe for motorists.

Drivers are urged to make alternative travel arrangements via either the Gillies or Julatten Ranges or delay travel where possible.

Motorists are advised to monitor www.qldtraffic.qld.gov.au for further updates.

No further information is available from police at this time.
