A DOMINANT Port Douglas belied its undermanned status on Saturday to crush North Cairns by 109-points.

In front of another large home crowd at the Port Douglas Sporting Complex, the Crocs were never headed and set-up the resounding win with a 6.2 to 0.1 opening term.

In the absence of a host of premiership stars it was Ethan McCullough, Skip Gribbon, Josh Lea and Jack Riley who stepped up to fill the void, while captain Kye Chapple had a day out in attack booting seven goals.

Lea knocked up getting the ball in a performance that pleased coach Brad Cooper after the game, while newcomer Brett Meredith and Mitch Bohm were again important.

The lively Adam Gross (four goals), Ash Davidson (three) and Edward McNally (three) also showed glimpses during the 22.13 (145) to 5.6 (36) triumph.

The Crocs have the bye this week before a bumper grand final replay with Manunda at Cazalys Stadium. The Hawks, too, have started the AFL Cairns season undefeated, recording an eye-catching 48-point win over Centrals Trinity Beach on Saturday.
