Smithfield Cinema set to open its doors

ENTERTAINMENT
The purpose-built cinema complex, just a 45 minute drove from Port Douglas, is located in a brand new entertainment and dining precinct of Smithfield Shopping Centre.
The precinct features five traditional cinemas, including the largest screen in Far North Queensland at 21.3 metres wide, set in an enormous stadium auditorium.
Movie buffs will also be treated to fully licenced Vmax bar offering cocktails, wines and beers.
General Manager Lee Staddon said he was excited to finally be revealing the complex.
“The new location will be extremely convenient for all movie lovers north of Cairns and the dining precinct will ensure that Smithfield Shopping Centre is a premiere entertainment destination,” he said.
The new cinema has generated over 45 local jobs.
“Our passionate team have been undergoing extensive training in preparation for the opening and we look forward to welcoming our new customers and giving them a truly memorable movie experience from September 14,” Staddon said.
The cinema will open to the public on September 14 with the VIP grand opening on Wednesday 20 September.
