MORE charges have been laid over a crime spree that allegedly lasted months across the region.

Mossman detectives served Rangi Fyfe, 20, with more than 35 extra charges yesterday following his arrest in Cairns last week.

They included five counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, seven counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, seven counts of wilful damage, seven counts of stealing, seven drug related offences, one count of entering a premises and committing an indictable offence and a number of other traffic related offences.

Fyfe was arrested on September 21 at an Earlville residence following an extensive police operation to locate him. He had been on the run for over two months after a string of offences including the alleged ramming of a police vehicle at Buchan’s Point, and a lockdown situation in Wonga Beach.

He remains in custody and is next scheduled to appear at the Cairns Magistrates Court in on October 16.
