PORT Douglas community members are invited to join Mayor Julia Leu next Monday for a morning tea to celebrate the extension of the Port Douglas Library opening hours.

The extended hours will mean the library will be open five days a week from today.

“As part of Council’s ongoing commitment to deliver services to the community it is my pleasure to inform residents that the Port Douglas Library will be open five days,” Leu said.

“There have been requests from the community for greater access, so we’re delighted to meet that need.

“Our libraries are friendly and vibrant community hubs, offering exciting and innovative opportunities.”

The Library and customer service centre are situated in the Port Douglas Community Hall on Mowbray Street.

Port Douglas Library will be open from 9.30 to 4 pm Monday to Friday from today.
