POLICE have charged a man with murder following the death of a man in Cooktown last night.
It will be alleged police attended a residence on Hagarty Close around 9.35pm following reports a man had been stabbed.

The 41-year-old man was located inside the home with multiple wounds and died from his injuries at the scene.
Ongoing police investigations led to the arrest of a man at a nearby property.
The 21-year-old man has since been charged with murder and is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on November 6.
Investigations are continuing.
