THE body of a 58-year-old Cairns man reported missing over the weekend has been found.

The man was fishing on the Daintree River near the Creb Track on Saturday afternoon when police were contacted after his belongings were located at the edge of the river.

A land, air and water search was launched, however he remained missing until yesterday’s discovery.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death. It’s believed he suffered from a pre-existing medical condition. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
