IT'S a crocodile’s equivalent of an all-you-can-eat buffet.

A three-metre Far North crocodile has just been removed from a barramundi farm near Innisfail after it was captured in a drag net.

The crocodile was ‘in exceptionally good condition’ after being allowed to feast at the fish farm near Mourilyan before being discovered.

It was inadvertently trapped in a fishing net being used by farm staff.

“The crocodile was removed from a pond at the barramundi farm located near Mourilyan, about 15km south of Innisfail, on a tidal stretch of the Moresby River," ,” a spokesperson from EHP said today.

“The crocodile is in exceptionally good condition after spending time on the fish farm.”

The animal became entangled in a drag net this morning while workers were harvesting fish from the pond.

Wildlife officers have taken it to a nearby holding facility where it will be offered to a farm or zoo.
