Police arrest Port Douglas man over a string of offences

POLICE charged a 24-year-old Port Douglas man yesterday following investigations into a number of property offences in the popular resort town.
Detectives executed a search warrant at a Garrick Street residence just after midday and seized a number of items of property which were allegedly stolen from vehicles in Port Douglas between November last year and January. A small quantity of cannabis and drug utensils was also found.
The man was charged with a total of eight offences comprising two counts each of entering premises and stealing and receiving tainted property, as well as single counts of stealing, possession of a dangerous drug and drug utensils and possession of stolen property.
He is scheduled to appear in the Mossman Magistrates Court on April 20.
