UPDATE 7PM: There are reports the Kuranda Range has been closed to traffic after a black Holden Commodore station wagon was spotted.

It’s believed to be the same car police say missing Port Douglas woman Jessica Hamill could be in with a male in his mid 20s.

EARLIER: POLICE say missing Port Douglas woman Jessica Hamill ‘could be anywhere’ amid fears she is being held against her will.

Acting inspector Mick Gooiker told at a press conference today in Cairns the parents of the missing 20 year-old were ‘extremely worried’. She was last seen by flatmates at her Limpet Avenue address sometime before 2am this morning.

Police would not comment on the relationship between Hamill and a man they believe she may be with, but said they were 'extremely concerned for her welfare'. It's believed they are driving a 2012 Black Holden station wagon with black fitted wheels.

‘We are not in a position to comment on the relationship between the two as investigations were ongoing,” Gooiker said.

“The information we have is she should have been at work today, she was not, and no one has been able to contact her."

Gooiker said Hamil and the man, in his mid 20's, could have been driving in the Tablelands area but admitted they ‘could be a long way away’.

“Obviously her family and friends are extremely concerned for her and we are trying to locate her as soon as possible," he said,

“Anyone in this situation would be horrified.

“If anyone sees a male and female, particular matching the girls description, contact police as a matter of urgency.”

Hamill, a popular member of the Port Douglas community, is described as about 170cms tall and of medium build, with blue eyes and sandy blonde hair.
