EIGHT-year-old Port Douglas boy Willow Murphy will be living his dream on Saturday night when he breaks the banner and leads the Gold Coast SUNS onto the field in the AFL match against the Western Bulldogs.
Willow, who is a mad Suns supporter, will also join the players in the locker room before the game at Cazalys Stadium and, hopefully, meet his favourite player Gary Ablett Jr.

“I’m out of my head excited,” Willow said.
“I’ll be their team mascot.”
Willow has been playing AFL since he was in prep through the Auskick schools program and has been a Gold Coast member since he was three years old.
“My dad put me onto the Suns,” he said.
“Even though they’re not the best team (this year), I still love them.”

Willow’s parents, Kim and Pete Murphy, got a call on Wednesday from Suns management with the good news. They’ve been long time members and were offered the opportunity as a thank you for their loyalty to the club.

Kim said the whole family, which includes daughter Emily, would be decked out in their best Suns gear tomorrow night.
“We are all really excited, we go down and watch them every year so we love that they come to Cairns,” Kim said.
Pete had three simple words.
“Go the Suns!”
The game kicks off at 4.35pm tomorrow at Cazalys Stadium.
