VALE KIM COPLAND

Last updated:

Local golfer Kim Copland will be remembered this afternoon at the Palmer Sea Reef Golf Club in Port Douglas.

A SPECIAL gathering will be held at the Palmer Sea Reef Golf Course this afternoon to celebrate the life of Kim Copland.

Kim, who passed away last month, was a well-known golfer across the Douglas Shire and a former club champion at the Mossman Golf Club.

He held memberships at Mossman, Mirage Country Club and Palmer Sea Reef at various stages since moving to Port Douglas from Sydney.

“We are holding a get together for all the locals today," said Palmer Sea Reef General Manager, Ben Wood.

"All are welcome."

Kim’s neighbour, Pete Murphy, encouraged all those who knew him to attend the function kicking off at 4pm.

“He was a lovely bloke and will be missed,” Murphy said.

“He loved his golf and was a keen player in the area so it will be fitting to share a few stories this afternoon out at at the course.”
