A resort-style villa in Port Douglas could be the town’s biggest sale in more than five years if the asking price of $10.8 million is realised.

Situated on Island Point Road, Villa Hemingway has four bedrooms across six levels and has spectacular ocean views.

And realtor and Pink Company managing director Callum Jones said he is certain Villa Hemingway will sell this year and set a local price record rarely seen over the past five years.

Jones said although the market for luxury properties had been affected by the global financial crisis, there are signs of a turn around.

The sale of another $6.4 million Island Point Rd property to a Gold Coast businessman was one of the biggest Port Douglas sales last year, negotiated by Jones in an off-market deal.
