DOUGLAS Shire Council is working hard to clear the Bloomfield Track north of Emmagen Creek.

The section remains closed after heavy winds lashed the area on Monday night, making parts impassable.

The southern section of the trail, from Cape Tribulation to Emmagen Creek, was opened yesterday after a number of fallen trees were cleared.

Council crews are currently repairing a landslip near Woobadda Creek and are expected to give an update on its progress this afternoon.
