PORT Douglas tourism giant Tropical Journey’s looks set to be taken over by adventure tourism company Experience Co.
The Port Douglas based Calypso Reef Charters, Aquarius Sail and Snorkel and Daintree Tours all operate under the Tropical Journey’s banner, family owned and operated by Graham and Cathie Jones and their three sons, Adam, Chris and Tony.
Experience Co, previously known as Skydive the Beach, is believed to be close to inking a deal which will see it take over both Tropical Journey’s and Cairns-based reef operator Big Cat Green Island Reef Cruises for a reported $60 million.
The NSW based company also recently finalised a $19.6 million takeover of GBR Helicopters.
