PORT Douglas is hosting the Surf Life Saving Carnival this weekend on Four Mile Beach.

Be prepared for a busy scene on Saturday and Sunday as the North Queensland clubs battle it out at the Port Douglas Surf Life Saving Carnival.

Mission Beach, Etty Bay, Cairns, Ellis Beach and Port Douglas will all show off their surf life saving skills and fitness in a range of water and beach races.

With 18 masters nominated from the Port Douglas Club for the weekend, the club is hoping to take out the win in this arena. 

In the last carnival in Mission Beach the under nine's showed great skills and dominated their races, which they will hope to repeat again this weekend in front of a home crowd.

Come down to the beach to cheer them on tomorrow Saturday from midday and Sunday morning from 8am.
