Missing woman's body found in Cooktown

- Police seek help to locate missing woman
THE body of missing 42-year-old Donna Louise Steele was located in Cooktown yesterday.
Detectives were called at 5.20am after reports of a woman’s deceased body being found at Leggett’s Crossing on Endeavour Valley Road.
A number of crime scenes have been declared in Cooktown with detectives and specialist police in attendance as the town tries to come to grips with the tragic news.
The mother-of-two was last seen at the IGA Supermarket on Helen Street in Cooktown at 12.15pm on Wednesday. Police are treating the woman’s death as suspicious and have set up an Investigation centre at Cairns Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
Investigations are ongoing and detectives are appealing for any witnesses to come forward or anyone with information.
