SURF CARNIVAL

THE Port Douglas Surf Life Saving Club hosted the second North Queensland Surf Life Saving Carnival over the weekend.

Over 60 competitors were out representing the club on Four Mile Beach. The under nine girls showed dominance in their age group, taking out top positions in most races and most importantly all carried out with big smiles on their faces.

It was also great to see some first timers competing including Jayden Bhimji and Arthur Mahe in the under nine boy. A special mention must go to Sophie O'Gorman-Petrack who returned to the surf sport after a few years off and took out the under 19 female age champion and won the Open Female Beach Sprint.
