ONE of the most sought-after commercial mooring sites is now available at the Low Isles near Port Douglas.

Tour operators have an opportunity to secure a prized year-round permit at the well-known Great Barrier Reef islands.

Stargate Marine Services is currently advertising the mooring site for the use of commercial boats up to 35metres long.

It is one of the only permits allowing 365-day access to the Low Isles - made up of Woody and Low islands - just 15km off the coast of Port Douglas.

The islands are a hugely popular snorkelling site famous for sea turtles and plentiful marine life.
