Paul Lucas to be farewelled at funeral in Port Douglas
VALE PAUL LUCAS
A FUNERAL service will be held this morning in Port Douglas for the late Paul Lucas.
The former Douglas Shire councillor passed away peacefully last Wednesday after a short illness, aged 84.
A popular member of the community, Paul was also the President of the Port Douglas Crocs the year they built their current home ground in 1995. Back then the team had just a temporary shower and toilet, a far cry from the wonderful facilities the club enjoys today at the Port Douglas Sporting Complex.
Paul was a husband to Anne (deceased) and Ruth (deceased), and a loving father of Kathleen (deceased), Helen, Mark, Kathryn, Jane and their families.
His family and friends are inviting all those whose lives he touched to attend a Celebration of Paul's Life at the Port Douglas Community Hall today at 11am, followed by refreshments at the Port Douglas Sporting Complex from 12pm-3pm.
