YOU could see the excitement and anticipation on Thursday with all players keen to get back on the field, following a month’s break due to the potential cyclone and Easter Holidays.

All teams travelled to Cairns in Round 5 to play some exciting football in the cooler April conditions. The Colts and Under 15 notched up well fought out Victories. The next round is at the Croc pit on the Mayday weekend to make up for the week off because of Cyclone Debbie. Please come along, have a feed at the canteen and support our future AFL superstars.

The Club and players appreciate the local sponsors who provide weekly awards and assist in purchasing essential equipment. Community spirit and participation is what makes the Crocs and AFL a stand out. A big thank you from the club goes to Kenny Skinner who has tirelessly being selling Raffle tickets regularly on Saturdays at the Central and also for the large Anzac day raffle with 50% of the proceeds going to the Mossman RSL club. Keep up the good work Kenny the club appreciates it.

The clubs pleased to welcome some new faces and future superstars who have arrived at the club since the extended lay off. With 12 games still remaining in the season we continue to encourage more players to join the club. Come on down to the club on Tuesday or Thursday to give AFL a try.

Crocs Navy v Central Bulldogs Red:
The young Crocs were excited and ready to go after the long holiday break at Crathern Park. Ethan got the Crocs off to a great start with a quick goal and Cooper and Quade tried hard all day. With fewer handballs in the second half the boys kicked long and we saw some great marks from Harry and Finn. Kobe was unstoppable in the middle, Parker provided solid defence and new Croc Finn showed plenty of dash and finished with two goals. Well done to all the boys!

Goal kickers: Ethan, Kobe, Harry and Finn.
Players of the week: Cooper, Quade, Kai and Finn.

Crocs White v Cairns Saints Black:
The Whites arrived nice and early and were itching to get back on the ground after a long break away from AFL. In what was an even contest, all players had plenty of the football. Aaron, Kane and Arlo J kicked a goal in each of the first 3 quarters. Kirra almost kicked her 1st goal with 2 shots in the last quarter falling just short. Koen was a welcome addition to the team and played an outstanding 1st game.

Crocs v Central Bulldogs:
After the Easter break we were back at and up against the Bulldogs at Trinity Beach. Some new faces in Brae and Lane were handy inclusions and the team work by all was great to see. Everyone played exceptional football and it was pleasing to see the great sportsmanship by Caleb, Cooper G, Joe and Campbell helping the opposition make up numbers.

Crocs v Cairns City Lions:
Sunday Morning saw the return of the Under 11's battling it out with Cains City Lions. The boys defence got tested early on and were 2 goals down at ¼ time. They managed to get it together demonstrating their best football of the season with Cash Johnston and Jasper Maunder both kicking sensational goals! The third was fairly even with full back Locky Lane playing upfront and kicking another great goal! The final term the boys dug deep and hung in with Taj Uwland kicking his first off the season and Thero Boyd topping it off with some great footwork resulting in another goal! Definitely the best the boys have played .

With the Coach away the Under 15’s were guided by the current Queensland Senior Coach of the year Coops. In an impressive hard fought display the crocs over powered the Power and walked away with 14 point Victory. A super team effort by all players, keep this up and continue turning up to training and more wins will be around the corner.

Max, Rex and Brayden showed excellent skills despite the strenuous conditions.
