THE Port Douglas State School held its own special Anzac Day service on Monday.

Douglas Shire councillors Abigail Noli, Michael Kerr and Roy Zammatarowere in attendance for the special ceremony.

Mossman RSL President Ron Savage was a guest speaker while fellow members Wally Gray and Kieth Lyons were also present.

Piper Sean Hawkes also played as numerous wreaths were laid out, whiles members for the HMAS Cairns also travelled on Monday.
