Unprecedented numbers casting votes for Douglas Business and Tourism Awards
BUSINESS AWARDS
VISITORS from more than 17 countries and each Australian state have cast votes for the 2016 Douglas Business and Tourism awards being held on November 25 at the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort.
The United States leads the way followed by visitors from the UK, New Zealand, Canada, Israel and Germany. There are more than 45 categories and voting closes at 5:00pm on 4 November.
“This is unprecedented and far exceeds all expectations. We are naturally delighted with the response and that there are more nominations this year compared to last,” said Newsport’s Sarah Cullen, a sponsor and organiser of the event.
The categories include: Best Restaurant; Best Reef/Sailing Tour; Best Tour Guide; Best Resort Accommodation (over 40 rooms); Best Fashion Retailer; Best Overall Service; Best Spa Experience; Best Tradesman (individual) and Best Qualified Practitioner (individual).
The aim of the Douglas Business & Tourism Awards is to celebrate and showcase the very best of the best in service and product delivery. Established as a vehicle to incentivise business excellence in and around the region, the Awards now provide winners with an esteemed hook to hang their deserving business hat on.
There is an open invitation to all local residents and visitors to contribute to this recognition of excellence by voting in these Awards to help businesses gain the respect they deserve.
It is through this program of awards that Douglas businesses will achieve acknowledgement for their year-long service quality and consistency. There is no greater recommendation than that received from satisfied customers.
The Douglas Business and Tourism Awards voting forms are being distributed soon and can also be picked up at the Newsport office located at 38 Wharf Street, Port Douglas.
