Tourism and internet hot topics on Chamber’s agenda tomorrow night

BUSINESS

Last updated:

THE Douglas Chamber of Commerce has a packed agenda for tomorrow night’s quarterly open session at the Courthouse Hotel and business owners can expect a detailed update on the many projects impacting the shire.

Chamber president Helen De Ross said she had secured three guest speakers and their respective subjects will be of interest to the guests.

Tara Bennett will provide an update on the flow of tourism to the region along with projects Tourism Port Douglas & Daintree is working on; John Sullivan will discuss the Mossman Botanic Garden; and Wendy Morris the Mt Emerald Wind Farm.

“From my perspective, I will be addressing the on-going Telstra/NBN issue; retail trading hours on public holidays; key priorities identified by our working groups; as well as the Town Plan and submission forms.

“We have had an excellent response and I am looking forward to again illustrating the excellent work the chamber and its various working groups are doing,” she said.
