DOUGLAS Shire Council is inviting applications for funding of local projects under various funding programs including the Community Support Program, Event Funding Program and Business Development Fund.

Mayor Julia Leu said she was delighted to announce the latest round of Council’s funding programs which opened last week.

Funding of up to $10,000 is available for successful applicants.

“Projects, programs and activities funded under Council’s grants programs significantly contribute to our community well-being, providing opportunities for everyone in the community to participate and be involved,” Leu said.

“We’re blessed with so many creative, clever and community-minded people in our communities and our funding programs offer fantastic opportunities for local community and sporting organisations, businesses and individuals to get their great ideas off the ground.

“If anyone has a project they think may be eligible for funding, I urge them to attend an information session or at the very least contact Council for guidance to maximise your chances of success.”
