Fatal hit and run in Mossman

POLICE are appealing for public assistance following a fatal traffic crash in Mossman early this morning.

At around 4:45am a member of the public located a male pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle on Junction Road in Mossman.

Emergency services attended and the 24-year-old Trinity Beach man was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police are looking for a black coloured car with damage to one of its headlights which they believe may have been involved in the incident.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
