Rain stays away for ladies Champion of Champions

The Far North Queensland District Ladies Golf Association Champion of Champions event saw 28 players from eight FNQ District affiliated clubs battle it out in overcast conditions.
Fortunately the Mossman course was spared the heavy rain experienced in Cairns on Saturday.
On Sunday a few early morning downpours at Mossman were over by the time play commenced at 9am. During the event, players only had to deal with a couple of light showers early on and the sun appeared for the afternoon.
In Division 1, a play-off was required to determine the Champion, with Caitlyn Hendrie declared the winner
on the 2nd play-off hole over Evie Golightly from Cairns.
In Division 2, Jeanette Gilliver (Half Moon Bay) was crowned champion while in Division 3 it was Janice Staines (Cairns) who saluted.
The Senior Champion was Michelle Pearsall (Atherton) while Lilly Birney (Half Moon Bay) was named Junior Champion
The nearest the pin prizes went to Ruth Yelland (Paradise Palms) and Janice Staines (Cairns).
