THE Reef Marina boardwalk will come alive this Saturday for the much-loved Porttoberfest.

German dancing girls, Bavarian costumes, live music and a stack of beers on tap will turn Hemingway’s Brewery - hosts of the event - into a mini Munich by the water.

Music will be pumping from midday and run until 9pm with prizes up for grabs for best dressed Oktoberfest themes.

“This has become a staple on the Port Douglas event calendar and the tradition will continue in style this weekend,” Porttoberfest founder Sam Cullen said.

“We want to see as much colour as possible down at Hemingway’s and encourage everyone to get into the spirit of the day.”

Porttoberfest and Hemingway’s, the first ever microbrewery in Port Douglas, have formed a perfect partnership for lager lovers across the tropical north.

The brewery will have 26 craft and German beers on tap while German food stalls will be set up for the afternoon.

Entry will cost punters $8 and include a festival cup, with festivities kicking off at midday. For a full list of beer on offer and other information visit Porttoberfest.
