Papillon Landscapes recognised for ‘massive year’ in Brisbane

PAPILLON Landscapes was rewarded for ‘a massive year’ on Saturday when it was named a finalist at the Landscape Queensland Construction Excellence Awards in Brisbane.
The Port Douglas company, owned and operated by Pete and Kim Murphy, have enjoyed a remarkable 2016 which included the completion of a multi million dollar landscaping project for the Mirage Country Club and Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas Resort.
“To be nominated as a finalist was great recognition for our entire team, who have put in a tireless amount of work,” Kim said.
“It really has been a massive year for us.”
Despite the size and time pressure of Papillon’s contracts with Chinese company Fullshare Group - who own the Sheraton in Port Douglas – they used only local sub-contractors and materials by teaming with Douglas Shire businesses.
Papillon was then contracted for the revegetation project along Four Mile Beach, which saw 2000 native plants replace waste vegetation on the foreshore and ocean facing side of the Sheraton.
