More than 20 full time jobs available at Cairns Aquarium

THE Cairns Aquarium & Reef Research Centre will launch its first round of major staff recruitment tomorrow where an initial 23 full time positions will be offered.

The roles available in this recruitment round are supervisory and technical in nature with commencement dates varying by position. The positions will create the key senior management team, departmental heads, and departmental assistants.

“We are seeking qualified and experienced individuals ideally involved in the Tourism and Major Attractions industries and in particular with Public Aquarium, Zoo, or Fisheries Science experience or as we like to call them “AquaNuts”,” Cairns Aquarium General Manager Julie Cullen said.

“Most importantly though, we are looking for enthusiasm and passion for the aquatic world.”

Positions being recruited for include: Finance Manager, IT Manager, Operations Manager, Front of House Supervisor, Building and Facilities Manager, Aquaculture & Research Manager, Sales and Marketing Manager, Sales Associate, Education Supervisor, Retail Supervisor, Assistant Curator - Marine, Assistant Curator - Freshwater, Aquarist – Marine, Aquarist - Freshwater, Herpetologist and Junior Herpetologist.

All positions will be advertised through mainstream media along with the Cairns Aquarium Facebook page and the Cairns Aquarium website. In January, a further 96 frontline and operational positions will be advertised.
