THE Cornetts IGA Supermarket in Port Douglas will launch its newly refurbished store tomorrow.

Cornetts have invested $1 million on a new fit-out which includes the fruit and vegetable sections, bakery, fridges and all isles, sure to be a welcome change for local shoppers.

“We have revitalised the front of the store with new kiosks and the entry is bright, open and welcoming,” Cornetts Chief Executive Graham Booysen said.

“Along with the newly installed racking in the fruit and vegetable section, the surrounding strip lit refrigeration is a sleek new look and encompasses fresh produce, deli and meat, right through to frozen produce.”

To celebrate, the store will hold a sausage sizzle, face painting, balloons, samples and giveaways tomorrow from 9am to 1pm, while shoppers will enjoy specials that wind back the price clock back to 2006.

“The revamp didn’t stop there, we listened to the residents of Port Douglas with regard to product lines and now have a new health range in store,” Booysen said.

“The fresh new look is from top to bottom giving customers a full shopping experience.

“We believe that a good supermarket is an integral part of a small town and our long connection to and investment in Port Douglas is testament to that.”
