UPDATE: No injuries from crash on Captain Cook Highway near Port Douglas

UPDATE 9.20am: The four people involved in a car crash on the Captain Cook Highway near Port Douglas yesterday have escaped without injuries.

All four were taken to the Mossman Hospital as a precaution after their vehicles collided near Oak Beach yesterday morning, but were all discharged without injury.

Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.

YESTERDAY: Police wish to advise that the Captain Cook Highway near Oak Beach and the Kennedy Highway are now open.

Police thank motorists for their patience.

EARLIER: Four people have been taken to Mossman hospital after a crash on the Captain Cook Highway south of Port Douglas this morning.

Both the north and southbound lanes near Oak Beach are currently blocked after two vehicles collided, with the traffic stopped for at least a kilometre.

Four people have been taken to Mossman Hospital and emergency services remain at the sight, with motorists asked to avoid the area.

Emergency services were also called to a crash on the Kennedy Highway this morning near the nature park in Kuranda, no injuries have been reported.
