The Chandon lunch celebrates 12th year in style

CELEBRATING its 12th anniversary, The Chandon lunch held at Zinc Bar and Grill has, in recent years, become the traditional starter for the Douglas Carnivale.

Numbers were down a little this year probably because the Carnivale’s other major culinary event clashed on the same day and the weather forecast was dire.

However the slightly smaller turnout just made it easier for everyone to mingle and enjoy fellow guests comprised of a very heavy local content.

Carnivale is always a great opportunity for the locals to get together and enjoy a good catch up and the Zinc Bar and Lounge always has a great atmosphere.

Zinc owner Marco Piat said he was more than happy with the attendance and knew that the day would be a great one especially with some of the local characters who were heading up many of their tables.  And he was right on the money.

The one thing that identifies the annual Carnivale is laughter and smiling faces and they were in abundance on Friday as the four course degustation, complemented with different superb wines for each course, was delivered.

The table staff as usual were efficient, attentive and ready to join in the fun.

The Chandon lunch is always a great way to start the festivities of Carnivale and this year the entertainment of each others company warmed everyone up for the Macrossan Street Parade.
