THE Mickey Ink Port Douglas Race Week has once again done itself proud with its ultimate success auguring well for future years.

And Mickey Dousset, the major sponsor and owner of Cairns-based Mickey Ink, a graphic design and sign writing company, said she could not be happier with the event.

“This is our second year as title sponsor and has proven to be a perfect fit for our target audience,” said Ms Dousset.

“We were blessed with ideal weather which made for exiting racing conditions and I know that the participants can look back on a spectacular week of sailing.”

Besides her sponsoring duties, Ms Dousset was in the thick of things and enjoyed her challenges on the water.

“I have been sailing for the past 8-10 years, with the last four on my own boat, and I find the sport exhilarating,” she said.

Race organisers were equally delighted with the week and are now looking to increasing the number of entrants in 2017.

The winners of the four divisions:

Division 1  - Brava, skippered by Tony Moller

Division 2  - No Legends, skippered by Guy Carton

Division 3 - Barefoot, skippered by Wazza

Division 4 - Kaizen 2, skippered by Bruce Clarke
