Share your piece of Port Douglas paradise

TOURISTS and locals in Port Douglas have a week to capture their view of paradise, either by video or photo, for the chance to share in over $4000 in prize money.
Tourism Port Douglas and Daintree (TPDD) have been running a competition for standout snaps and videos to be sent in showcasing the stunningly beautiful scenery, lifestyle and experiences on offer around Port Douglas Mossman, Cape Tribulation and Daintree.
Photographers and videographers have one more week to enter to be in the running for a slice of the $4250 in prize money on offer.
“We want to put people in the picture, showing us what they love about the destination so we can share their view of paradise with potential visitors,” Tara Bennett, TPDD executive officer," said.
“We have had a great response so far with six videos, 205 stills and more than 1000 votes cast.”
The winning video entry will receive $2500, while the winning photographer will pocket $1000 and $250 for each photography category.
Videographers need to create a 30 second clip that features 'what they love about their paradise'. It must include one or more of the following themes:
- Village life
- Hidden gems
- Great Barrier Reef
- Daintree Rainforest
- Outdoor adventure
- Indigenous culture
- Beaches
- Nature
- Wildlife
- Food, wine and lifestyle
Photographers can send in up to three images capturing their paradise in in the following categories:
- Adventure
- Romance
- Family
The winning image could become the region’s hero shot in the TPDD publication Discover Paradise that delivers more than 190,000 copies throughout Australia and New Zealand.
