UPDATE: The Mossman Swimming Pool will be reopen from 8am tomorrow (Saturday). The complex was closed on Thursday after a light pole collapsed.

An exterior lighting pole at the Mossman Swimming Pool collapsed during yesterday’s storm forcing the closure of the complex for urgent maintenance and repairs.

The Douglas Shire Council will advise when it will reopen.

CEO Linda Cardew said the incident highlighted the importance of Council’s extensive investigations into property assets in recent months.

“We are in the process of reviewing all Council assets and this incident is a reminder of how critical it is for these actions to be undertaken,” she said.
