Douglas Chamber of Commerce announce election forums

The next term of Council is a key period for the Douglas Shire to progress.
The de-amalgamation is past history, the region’s economy is stable and a new term of Council is an opportunity for fresh ideas and renewed energy said the Douglas Chamber of Commerce (DCC).
The DCC once again is hosting public forums for existing Councillors and prospective new Councillors to outline their ideas, experiences and visions for a prosperous Douglas.
“The quality of our Councillors is a reflection on us as a business and prosperous community,” said the DCC.
The two forums to be held are:
Port Douglas
Date: Thursday 10th March
Venue:Port Douglas Community Centre Mowbray Street
Time: 5:30pm
Mossman
Date: Tuesday 15th March
Venue: Mossman Community Hall, Mill Street
Time: 5:30pm
The DCC said the forum is an opportunity for the businesses, residents and interested parties to interact with the prospective Councillors.
"If there are questions you would like to address to all the Council nominees please email by Tuesday 8 March any questions to the secretary@douglaschamber.com.au. Be educated before you bemoan the outcome.”
Also the Daintree Marketing Cooperative Ltd have announced their forum to be held for the candidates:
Cow Bay
Date: Tuesday 8th March
Venue: Cow Bay Hotel – Lounge Bar
Time: 9:00am to 11:30am
