Where do I vote? Douglas Shire heads to the polls for federal election

Australians go to the polls on Saturday in what has been termed one of the most significant elections in many years.
The election was called by Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull because of a double dissolution.
For our Newsport readers, we have provided information as to where to vote and the times the polls open and close; Liberal and Labor’s plans and where the two parties stand on the big issues.
Warren Entsch, the Federal Member for Leichhardt, has made a number of commitments, some of which impact the Douglas Shire. They include:
• $6.7 million towards the long-overdue Port Douglas Water Reservoir
• $1.3 million for the Citizens of the Great Barrier global awareness and fundraising project
• Funding for new mobile phone infrastructure at Weipa, Mt Carbine, Cape Tribulation and Wonga Beach
• $20 million in grants for local businesses through a Jobs and Investment package

Election day polling booths open at 8:00 am on Saturday and close at 6:00 pm sharp.
