THIS is what anglers dream about and Port Douglas’ Far North Sports Fishing (FNSF) is offering an opportunity not to be missed.

Anglers wishing to indulge their sense of adventure need look no further than spectacular range of luxury expeditions to the pristine waters of the far reaches of the Great Barrier Reef.

FNSF is offering three exclusive adventure packages tailored to provide an unforgettable experience of premium seasonal fishing in some of Australia’s most remote waters, while enjoying the splendour of the tropical North in world-class comfort on board a fully staffed private super yacht.

Far North Sports Fishing director Tony Fyfe said each expedition – including the Remote Barra Expedition; Northern Exposure and Blue Water Adventure – provided anglers with rare access to untouched reefs for maximum opportunity to claim the jewels of the Far North, including barramundi, giant trevally, black marlin and more.

“We have worked hard to ensure our fishing operation sets a new benchmark as a true, five-star experience, appealing to those discerning clients who appreciate the finer things in life,” Mr Fyfe said.

“We have utilised the in-depth knowledge of our world-class fishing team to ensure each expedition is expertly aligned with the seasons, delivering a bountiful experience of fishing the most prized and elusive fish of the tropics.

“After spending the day fishing remote reefs and blue waters, our clients come home to the mother ship, the superbly appointed Blue Martini, to enjoy beautiful cuisine freshly prepared on board from the catch of the day and the best local produce by our accomplished chef,” he said.

The Remote Barra Expedition is a six-day six-night adventure exploring the extremely remote waters of Princess Charlotte Bay in Lakefield National Park, offering all the excitement of catching Australia’s famed barramundi and a host of other fresh and saltwater sport fish, as well as chasing monster mud crabs.

Running from February to April to coincide with the run-off from the wet season, this expedition caters for six guests and includes either helicopter or fixed wing transfers from Cairns or Port Douglas to some of the best barramundi grounds in the world.

The Northern Exposure expeditions run from October to December, coinciding with the annual giant black marlin season, and sees guests head for the far reaches of blue water extending north from the renowned Ribbon Reefs to Jewell and Waining Reefs and beyond.

These fertile grounds offer anglers a variety of techniques for popping, jigging, trolling and fly fishing and target a remarkable bounty from untouched reef, including giant trevally, Spanish mackerel, cobia and mahi-mahi, as well as red emperor, coral trout and nannygai.

The bespoke Blue Water Adventure run from Port Douglas between May and October, providing a memorable experience on board the Blue Martini enjoying the spoils of rich fishing grounds that are home to a variety of species including reef fish, billfish and pelagics.

FNSF’s expert private guides will share invaluable local knowledge, while custom-designed centre consoles provide an ideal platform for thrilling fishing, with guests also able to tailor their Great Barrier Reef experience to include snorkelling and scuba diving, kayaking or spear fishing.
