AFL Cairns: Chapple runs riot again as Crocs demolish Tigers

Published Tuesday 14 June 2016

PORT Douglas skipper Kye Chapple continues his stunning run of form booting 14-goals in his side’s 136-point demolition of North Cairns Tigers.

What was more remarkable was the 24-year-old gun slammed on the first six goals of the match to have on-lookers watching on in awe at Cazaly’s Stadium as he single handedly put the Tigers to the sword on the scoreboard.

Dylan Wearmouth broke Chapple’s hot-streak with a major at the 22nd minute mark of the first term, but the Horsham spearhead didnt take long to get back into the action and jagged his seventh just before quarter time to give him seven majors at the break for the second week in a row.

The Crocs had opened up a 53-point margin heading into the second term and would prove a class above for the entire afternoon, finishing with a 24.21 (165) to 4.5 (29) win.

Chapple was clearly best on ground while Brayden Mayne, Peter Bury, Wes Glass, Declan Kelly and Jonathan Hobbs were all among the best.
