President Matt Hatfield said he was delighted that ticket sales for the show are now online.

“It’s a great chance to make it easy for people around the region to book their tickets from their computer at home or at work,” he said.

“We are confident that the online ticket system will result in bigger crowds for the weekend. We have a fantastic event calendar this year for both days and the firework finale is guaranteed to be the best ever to celebrate our 65th birthday!”

This year, however you buy a weekend ticket or a one day ticket for the public holiday Monday you are entitled to a free raffle ticket for entry into the Magic Monday $2,000 cash draw, which you claim on arrival at the ticket gate.

The draw will be made on Magic Monday afternoon (times to be published) and don’t forget you MUST be present in person to claim your prize.

The 2016 event calendar for both days is an exciting mix of new and traditional events. The wood chopping competition includes the team from Malanda who will be celebrating their 100 years of wood chopping but organisers have made it clear that Mossman won’t be giving them any favours when it comes to the competition.

Naturally the fun fare show rides will keep everyone amused especially if you’re brave enough for some of the thrilling new rides on their way. And the brilliant Side show alley will make sure you get to test your game skills and of course purchase the very latest show bags.

Noah’s Racing Pigs will once again be entertaining the crowds along with Melvilles Animal Farm and Radical Reptiles for those who like to get up close and personal with the native wildlife.

Monday will see the Dog Jumping display and the equestrian competition will run through both days.

A couple of new events will include Tim Riley, the famous whip cracker, who will put on a breathtaking display of skill and dexterity with his whips and Matthew George who will demonstrate his amazing and unique artistic skills with his chain saw.  See him transform logs into superb works of art before your very eyes!

Each day is full of fun for all ages and the Fireworks finale at 8pm will be a spectacular climax to a wonderful celebration of life in the far north.

It’s going to be a fantastic weekend. The new committee has worked so hard to ensure there is entertainment for all residents from families to pensioners to the younger audience and who knows you may end up $2,000 better off by just coming along on Magic Monday.

See you there.
