Jasper leads Gold Coast SUNS heroes onto Cazalys Stadium

CHILDHOOD DREAM

PORT Douglas junior Jasper Miller lived out a childhood dream last weekend when he led the Gold Coast SUNS onto the field before its AFL clash against the Western Bulldogs.

Jasper, a one-eyed SUNS supporter, won a competition to hang out with his heroes before running out with them onto Cazalys Stadium.

“It was such an amazing experience for him, he was just beaming,” said his proud mum, Jayne.

“He got Tom Lynch’s autograph which he was just stoked about and he got to meet all of players. They were all fantastic, he just loved it.”

Jasper attends Wonga Beach State School and plays in the under 11s for the Port Douglas Crocs. His favourite player is Gary Ablett Jnr, who was injured for the match and couldn’t make the trip to Cairns because of shoulder surgery.

“I think Tom Lynch might become his new favourite player,” Jayne joked.
