COUNCIL MEETING: Financial report up for discussion at council meeting tomorrow

THE Douglas Shire Council will hold an ordinary meeting tomorrow from 10am at the Council Chambers in Mossman.
The agenda items are now available online with a number of interesting topics up for discussion. Of particular interest will be the councils interim financial report for the period ending June 30.
The report includes details of the council's progress of the 2015-2016 budget which states its current operating revenue exceeds expectations by $1million, expenditure is well under budget and the deficit is $729,000 compared to a budgeted deficit of $3.6million.
Other agenda items will include:
- An amendment to the fees and charges schedule for 2016-2017
- A request for a ’Men’s Shed’ shipping container to be located in Mossman
- An application for a road closure adjoining Banabilla Rd in Degarra
- To repair or demolish an antiquated community events stage at 69R Tea Tree Rd, Diwan
- The car park upgrade project at the Daintree Gateway
- Port Douglas Service Road upgrade project
- Local Roads of regional significance State of Intent
