Wonga Beach Barra Bash this Australia Day

Wonga Beach State School P&C will get together before school returns to combine forces with some of Wonga Beach businesses to put on a day to remember on Australia Day this Tuesday 26th January.

The P&C will cook up some great Aussie tucker on Aussie Campfire Kitchens gear and serving ice cold beer and drinks supplied by the new Wonga Beach Bottle Shop at the Hook-a-Barra Australia Day event.

First ever opportunities for visitors to kick back have a beer and enjoy some great food and tunes.  Hook-A-Barra competition kicks off at 10:00 am on Australia Day says Wonga Beach State School P&C.

“Hodgie aka “The Barefoot Fisherman” will be doing his amazing bait casting tricks, he can knock a can off someone’s head,” says Wonga Beach State School P&C.

There will be tube fishing for the first timers at Hook-A-Barra.  The Daintree Wildlife Cruises are providing a close encounter and photo opportunity with a crocodile and the fishing competition has an Engel Fridge up for grabs.

“Doesn’t matter who gets the biggest fish, all participants go in the draw, young and old get the opportunity to take home awesome prizes.
