It was reported on social media January 3rd that a dead croc was found situated between the Port Douglas Yacht Club and The Reef Marina.

Images were posted on social media of the dead croc which was, reportedly, pulled out of the water onto the side of the banks and reported to Department of Environment and Heritage Protection (EHP) that morning.

Speculation as to the probable cause of death for the croc sparked an outpouring of comments on the social media page, while most expressed genuine concern over its death.

Newsport has contacted Media Services at EHP to obtain more facts around the probable cause of death and will provide further details when they become available.
