Respected Port Douglas business and community leader Michael Kerr today announced he will be running for Council in the March 19 election.

Kerr follows hot on the heels of former Douglas Shire Council employee Donna Graham who earlier this week said she would be seeking a seat on Council.

Graham said a key reason for running is to ensure Port Douglas has Council representation.

Kerr has excelled as a community leader through his celebrated work at Paws and Claws and The Clink Theatre, among other ventures.

Newsport's Cassandra Pulver will be catching up with Michael in the coming days with a detailed interview.
