U16 Muddies vs Mareeba

The Under 16 Astute Financial Douglas Muddies played Mareeba at the Mudpit for a one dayer last Saturday with the Muddies looking for their 3rd win of the season.

Captain Keel Sorensen lost the toss and the Muddies were sent into bat.  Daniel Davidson & Curtis White opened the batting and got off to a great start before the Muddies lost their first wicket in the 5th over, with Curtis bowled for 3. Ryan Doble joined Daniel at the crease and the pair made a good partnership before Ryan was caught for 15.

Levi Trewick was next but it wasn't long for the Muddies to lose their next wicket with Daniel bowled for 25. Keel Sorensen was next to bat and he and Levi were looking good before Keel was LBW for 8.

Nathan Deuble was next and he and Levi  were looking good with both batsmen making quick runs before Levi was out for 25. With 3 overs left Tex McDowall was next with both batsmen trying to up the run rate before Nathan was out for 7.

Liam Clacherty contributed 8. With Fraser Allen and Tex to bat the last over they both played some good shots picking up easy runs before Tex made the opposition sides hit the keepers helmet. The Muddies finishing their 32 over with a score of 7/122.

It was time for the Muddies to take the ball and Muddies opening bowlers  Ryan and Liam bowled well but were unlucky to take a wicket.

Reuben Allison was the next bowler but also was unlucky to take a wicket. With the Mareeba team with the score of 0/54 after 8 overs. But it was Captain Keel who got the break through, who finished his spell with 2 wickets.  With Mareeba passing the Muddies score at the 18th over.

The Muddies kept at it with Levi 1/9 off 3, Liam 1/17 off 3, Tom Harvey 1/22 off 2 , Tex 2/18 off 2, Daniel 1/30 off 3 and Nathan 1/11 off 2.

The Muddies managed to take out 10 of the Mareeba batters with the Mareeba finishing their 32 overs with 10/225.
