As part of this Special Feature, Newsport asked a series of questions of the Mayor, Council and Councillors relating to the latest outcomes proposed by Council in relation to the purchase of Lot 96 and the potential compulsory acquisition of the necessary portion of lease land, in order to clarify the issue for our readers.

Today we are delighted to have received the Mayor’s and Chief Executive Officer’s responses.

A copy of Mayor Julia Leu's Opens external link in new windowresponse to the Newsport questions is published in full Opens external link in new windowhere.

Chief Executive Officer Linda Cardew declined to comment. Newsport was advised that Ms Cardew would not comment as it was believed the matter was election related and that the Council Administration’s actions in regards to the proposed marina development are guided by the decisions made by the Mayor and Councillors at Council Meetings.

In Part 3 of the Opens external link in new windowseries, to be published next Thursday, Newsport will be talking to The Reef Marina regarding relevant updates.
